Nice to meet you π
Everyoneβs journey is filled with unexpected twists and turns, just like this strange spaceship we call Earth. π β¨
No designer has a "traditionalβ path, and Iβll tell you a secret: staying within the atmosphere and playing it safe isnβt always the way to go. So hereβs my timeline:
βοΈ Learned Photoshop at the wee age of 12; since then, I have always been fascinated by the fine and digital arts.
βοΈ Attended the Arts & Humanities Academy at Berkeley High School. I dove into every type of art class, from film photography to assisting teachers in digital arts and creating public art murals around town.
βοΈ Graduated with my BFA in Industrial Design (with a fun Minor in Fine Arts and psychology for sh*ts & giggles) at Massachusetts College of Arts & Design. Afterward, honing in on the digital arts.
βοΈ When I brought together my fine arts and strategic design thinking skills, I landed in the UX Design world. πΈ I immediately started freelancing and growing my network.
βοΈ Jumped on a one-way flight to Berlin, Germany, as a freelancer, spreading UX knowledge worldwide. A year later, I wound up at Wayfair.com!
βοΈ After C*VID cooled down, I moved back to San Francisco, CA, and leaned into the consulting world by joining Fjord (now Accenture Song.)
βοΈ Most recently, I have been expanding my craft through fine arts, volunteering as a mentor in a few areas, doing freelance design work, and continuing education within the tech industry.
βοΈ Whatβs next? Stay tuned!
